MonoMonday: Still Life

Today's MM challenge from ApolloFly is "Still Life": I thought rather than a using a more conventional subject such as a vase of flowers I'd blip something a bit more zany. When our kids were little (that goes back quite a way!) we started keeping sharp knives in a jug at the back corner of the kitchen bench, for 'elf and safety reasons: it probably doesn't do the knives any good but it keeps them away from prying fingers. (The jug we use doesn't pour very well anyway so it wasn't much use as a jug!)

Even as the kids grew up we stuck to the same habit; over the years a couple of other implements have found their way into the jug - spaghetti tongs (as seen to the left of the photo) and teabag tongs on the right.
