Everyday I Write The Book

How the other half live …

Twenty thousand steps again today. We went from Waterloo to High Street Kensington via Hyde Park. Cloudy and occasionally chilly but a lovely walk. Dogs, joggers and coppers were everywhere and in Kensington Gardens the professional squirrels were out looking cute and hoping for nuts. We did an exhibition at The Design Museum (The Waste Age) and went to Wholefoods,  finding some stunningly beautiful streets and mews on the way. It’s a monied area, lots of white Georgian houses, big and immaculately maintained. Several curious little shops like the one pictured here, owned I suspect by people who don’t need to worry about money but just like to keep an eccentric establishment for a hobby.

The Waste Age was a very hard hitting exhibition. Go see it if you are anywhere near London. We really are screwing the planet one piece of plastic at a time. Scary stats and the depression that comes with knowing you are not just part of the problem  but are the problem on a vast collective scale.

Sobering thoughts but a good day. Always is when we are together like this.

Also saw some colourful characters, amazing houses, and a bunch of anti-tory protestors. Album here:
