According to The Boss's phone these are Wax begonia's and they reside in a lovely garden plot close to the visitor centre near our Town Hall (currently being upgraded to modern earthquake standards).
The image has had a touch of an App called "Graphic" to give it a different look. 
22c outside today and rain has thought about it a couple of times but nothing serious. Almost 8km about the town and continued recovery.
