Panther City

David and I got in a lovely day together in Fort Worth, which is also known as Panther City.
The origin of the panther name dates back to about 1875, when a Dallas attorney who once lived in Fort Worth, as an insult, made the comment that Fort Worth was such a sleepy city that he saw a panther asleep in the street of downtown. The panther was later embraced by the city as a symbol of hope and strength.

We enjoyed time at our downtown BG coffee house and a walk through downtown to the Water Gardens. These panther gargoyles were noticed on the Flatiron Building - one of the first high-rise structures built in Fort Worth.
