Rays and a soaking

We had planned to do 3 Wainwrights today but changed our plans when we saw the mountain weather forecast which predicted 50mph winds.

Instead we revisited a Wainwright we tried and failed to climb last year because of adverse weather.

Seathwaite fell (on the right of this picture) stands at the end of the Seathwaite valley in Borrowdale.   This time we found the path up which was insanely steep and came down via Sprinkling Tarn.

Unfortunately,  I fell full length in a stream as we crossed it on the way down and my trousers,  boots and gloves were soaked for the remaining 90 minute descent.

It was a good day however and on the way up we were treated to this light show
