The Lonely and Dangerous Shore

In February 1802 Matthew Flinders and crew of the HMS Investigator were charting this coastline on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. They were short of drinking water and Flinders sent a small boat and 8 crew ashore to look for water. They never returned, and evidence was found indicating they had all perished. Flinders named a nearby headland Cape Catastrophe, and named 8 islands for each of the lost crew members. There is more information online.
