Bulking up for the Blizzard

The birds are as busy as the humans preparing for what may be a whopper, even historic for January in Massachusetts. This little Black Capped Chickadee was enjoying a peanut. We are in the absolute most extreme section of the snowfall map, 2 feet or more, perhaps over 30 inches with intense winds and bitter cold.

I have been hoping to make it to a dozen years(coming up this spring) without a gap or backblip. It seems like that  stretch could come to an end with extended power outages.

In the extra you can see a snowfall map as of 5AM. We'll see what the afternoon maps say. I heard on the Weather Channel that 35 inches/88cm could happen in some South Shore areas! Unbelievable, I'll feel like I'm back in Northern Maine as I was 50 years ago today, teaching on the Canadian border.

All hands wary
