The Play That Never Happened

After a successful opening night of our play, today I am being lazy in preparation for tonight. With drama on my mind, I remembered this photo I took (apologies for the quality) of a poster for a play that was due to open at Shanklin Theatre on 4 September 1949. We had to wait 2 years to put ours on owing to the Pandemic but the poor souls involved in this play had far longer to wait and it didn’t happen! This is on display at the theatre in what became a Map Room during the war, hidden in the basement.
