Flash Harry

Ah who could argue with any public call to us to “be a lover, give love, choose love, love everyone always”? No-one clearly, but note this is not the studied philosophy of a Plato, Descartes or an off-his-head hippy dippy Jack Kerouac, but the greatest ever son of Holmes Chapel Harry Styles (he of One Direction fame).

MrsB and myself were out for a 10 miles circular walk around Goostrey today that happened to skirt his old home town. We happened by chance on this graffiti love-in scrawled on the base of the Grade II listed Twemlow Railway Viaduct sited over the River Dane just north of the village. Seemingly (or at least assumedly) this place has now become a bit of a pilgrimage to his die hard fans. I actually only worked out what it was after getting home and checking online.

The viaduct has its own Historic England webpage. Not sure how the dreary conservationist diehards might view the sacrilege of serial graffiti on a listed structure, but personally, I absolutely loved it for its total happy positivity, lack of profanity and joy.
