Ful

Ful medames, or simply fūl, is a stew of cooked fava beans served with olive oil, cumin, and optionally with chopped parsley, garlic, onion, lemon juice, chili pepper, and other vegetable, herb, and spice ingredients. It is served throughout the Middle East and the Levant, but it is actually considered Egypt's national dish.

For years the look had always put me off, until a trip two years ago, where ful was the only choice. It is now one of my favourite breakfasts
