The Abbey in the Oakwood

Although not really much like the painting by Caspar David Friedrich, this view put me in mind of his work.
A day at Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire, Hawfinches had been seen but not by me. I did have the consolation of a Red Kite soaring overhead in the sunshine.
