Pictorial blethers

By blethers

Thanks for the memories...

This is Holy Trinity Church, Dunoon, on the first Sunday after Easter, Low Sunday, the last Sunday for some time when the congregation will worship here, the last time it will look just like this. During the coming week the church will be stripped, the organ removed into storage, everything that moves moved out. Then the builders will move on and do what builders do - including the renovation of the (rotten) floor and the consequent levelling of the current wooden step up into the choir. This will benefit both the acoustic and the halt and aged who tend to topple, but will present a challenge to the shorter readers at the lectern ....

All to the good, in the end, but a strange moment nonetheless.
