Edinburgh musings

This has been a weekend of train fulfillment. Today was the big blue train to Edinburgh. Magnus has never seen so much train action in his life. Callum is now the mature traveler and can discuss how many horses were in the field we just passed.

We braved the bitter temps off the train and hiked up the mound to the National Museum of Scotland. Love this place. It is so much better than it was in the days when I used to pop in to escape from studentdom and listen to silence for half an hour. In fact silence was greatly lacking as Magnus yelled at the top of his lungs - with JOY - as he tottered his way through the exhibit halls holding our hands.

This massive balloon sculpture was a big hit with Callum. I have to admit that I felt a desire to climb up through it. Luckily I am lacking super powers so it was safe.

Lunch with old family friends and our extended family was wonderful.

I like having family weekends. Wonder how loooooong it will be before we get another.
