A delightful sight

It always put a smile across my crooked face to see an emerged queen bumbler gorging on snow drop pollen and beginning the cycle of life once more, with its search for an underground nest site. 
Whilst ourselves, on a mild February day, begin the pruning of various fruit trees and compost the now, empty seed husks of evening primrose and the like. whose job of feeding the many goldfinches and replenishing the seed bank, are done. for another year
