Tomorrow

We are going on a tour of this place as part of a history walk with our walking group. The council used it for offices, but It has been closed for several years, due to the enormous cost of restoration. It was once the home of the Singer(sewing machine) family. Now two groups of enthusiastic volunteers are creating a realistic chance of it being fully restored. A team of garden volunteers are maintaining and restoring the magnificent gardens, and the Friends of Oldway are progressing with plans for the house restoration, with realistic plans for finding the money needed.
The Friends will be giving us a tour of the accessible rooms of the Grade 11 listed building compared to the Palace of Versailles.
