Life is -

We arrived in Iceland at about 8 am and left Keflavik airport. The coach took us straight to the blue lagoon which was absolutely amazing! It was incredibly warm and steamy and the water was so blue! "Oh my god, it's blue!" It's impossible to describe it, especially as the day was quite cold and foggy - we all thought this added to the experience!

We then headed off to see some natural steam things (as pictured) which were really cool. The landscape is so completely different to here in England; there's hardly any trees and no green grass, and rocks everywhere!

We visited the point where the American and Eurasian plates meet, then went to Reykjavik and up this building to see the whole city, it's absolutely tiny compared to London! A population of around 220,000, we were told by our tour guide Pete (absolute legend) that it is inhabited by about 2/3 of Iceland's entire population!

Everybody was shattered after being awake - many of us for 24 hours, and so were looking forward to the hotel. However, we got there and were quite disappointed... we were in rooms of three, but the rooms weren't really big enough for one person. They had managed to cram in a bunk bed and a single bed, with a tiny ensuite bathroom. There wasn't enough room for all three of us to stand on the floor! Dinner was dreadful, a buffet of cold, soggy noodles and unbelievably garlic-y pasta... eurgh. We were so glad to leave Hotel Cupboard (as we named it) but knew that we were returning for the last night...
