The bees have been busy most days this winter

I have been keeping bees for the last fifteen years or so, and kept them for five years back in the 1980s. I try to put the bees first and we do not use chemicals or anything else to deal with varroa mite. We never feed sugar to replace honey we have taken. We never heat-treat or over-refine the honey. We used to have a lot more hives than we do now. We just keep them in our garden, whereas once we had 5 apiaries. We have too many bees really. Honeybees aren't really a threatened species anywhere in the world, but there are many other types of bees and pollinators that are. I hope I can work to make more habitats for those creatures, for without them we certainly are in big trouble!
