Decision time

You are on the train facing an hour’s journey and you hear a passenger two seats away coughing and spluttering. Do you (a) get up and move to another carriage? or (b) stay put with your mask on?

Well, this decision faced us today returning from Edinburgh. We sat tight for the first half an hour hoping the coughing would stop. It didn’t so we got up and moved. What’s more there were two young men in the seats in front both unmasked.

Earlier we had spent the day in the National museum of Scotland re-visiting it for the first time for over two years. It was good to be out and about again leading an almost normal life until the reminder on the train that the pandemic is not over.

Omicron maybe milder but we have no desire to find out.
