Excitement

We got caught up in some excitement this morning at NWT Cley Marshes when a load of twitchers descended on a pool near the beach. Apparently a single Red Breasted Goose had been spotted amongst a huge flock of Brent Geese and word had gotten out on the twitcher grapevine.

We eventually spotted what all the fuss was about and admittedly it was a very attractive looking goose that is non-native to Britain. As it would normally spend its winter around the Black Sea it was a very rare vagrant here.

Once the flock took flight, the twitchers also evaporated.
