Miniature forest?

I have recently been noticing how lush is some of the moss in the woodland area where I walk most mornings. Some varieties are short and tight with the appearance of velvet but this one that I have blipped has long fern-like growth as it creeps up the tree trunks.
The grey weather continues with the added “excitement” of a few blustery showers containing hailstones and the temperature has dropped to 3C tonight, the lowest for a while.
