All that glisters...

Usually the Jackdaws leave the back of the house alone and concentrate on the front. One time one of them made the mistake of coming down the chimney and becoming trapped behind the gas fire. We did manage to rescue the poor bird and now we have an open flame so such a problem should not arise again and we very rarely have the flame lit.

Today I threw some hard bread and some oatcakes out at the back of the house and almost at once the jackdaws came down to find out what was there. Soon it had all been cleared up. Still cold for the time if year though see the birds getting material for their nests- hope it's warm enough.
