Deluge

A very windy, dark and wet day. I had planned to take my mother for a walk to the local cemetery, to light a candle for my father who would have been 97 today. But when I drove to her house, I had to avoid a freshly fallen tree and lots of thick branches on the road, which had also flooded in some parts. No weather for a walk with my frail and increasingly wobbly mom.

So we lit the candle in her house, had coffee and cake together with her carers and talked about fathers and family.

Back home, I realised I hadn’t taken a picture all day. Rani very kindly provided me with an emergency blip, looking at the puddles on our patio.
