Eventful Times 2

Plymouth and the surrounding area has  been in the national news more than usual this week. First we had one of our local MPs publicly stating that he had sent a letter saying he no longer supported and had no confidence in the prime minister. Then we had the nationally important discovery in a cave that was discovered during building work, of well-preserved bones from prehistoric animals including a mammoth and a woolly rhinoceros. Finally, yesterday we saw a good performance by Plymouth Argyle against Chelsea, even though Chelsea just secured a win in the final minutes. Today, I had a go at watercolour painting, uploaded the results on Blipfoto and then decided to delete the image as it was so bad. On a more positive note, we had a pair of greenfinches today on the bird feeders. This was the first time for years. Also had a walk at Mount Batten Plymouth. Cannons were being fired from the Citadel, and I was the only person on the Breakwater when I took this shot. Perhaps everyone else had taken cover just in case live ammunition was used by mistake! More likely though it was the cold wind and threat of rain. My image is edited to convey the mood of a cold, grey, Sunday morning in February, with a wintry feel.
