Giant Tulips

Today it is my birthday, and my lovely  husband had booked us a table for lunch at Rick Stein's fish restaurant in Winchester, where we had a delicious  meal. We had intended staying in town until it got dark, so we could see the Light  Festival. However, as it was so blustery and chilly we photographed one of the  features (these giant triffids tulips) against  the blue sky, and  decided to return home in daylight.Martin had also  baked me a cake which we ate  while watching  David Attenborough 's splendid  "Green Planet" programme.  A necessarily low key, but enjoyable birthday. 
Martin has to go  to Cambridge tomorrow to help his sister make the  funeral arrangements for  their other sister who died last week.
