On the way to Corvara

Snow flurries and low cloud meant that we postponed our planned high level route today opting instead for a valley walk to the town of Corvara band back. We walked out along the east side of the valley and back along the east side.

It was a marvellous 10 and half mile walk through forest tracks and small villages in deep snow which necessitated the use of snowshoes at times. We stopped for a coffee at a smart spa hotel which had a heated outside pool occupied by a young lady. We stopped later for lunch at a very pleasant hotel in Corvara.

It was a long walk back alongside the river and a steep final ascent to the chalet. Several cups of tea slaked our thirst and beer and wine with the meal brought the days to a very enjoyable end.
