Disappearing snow

This hill, which faces away from the sun and has lots of trees, lacks snow because of the rain a few days ago. Meanwhile, the flat ground beneath it is covered in ice and some snow. The ice is from our cars packing down the snow. It's too hard to break off with the snow shovel.
