Frost on the Beach

The sand was crisp with frost underfoot this morning as Daftie and I made our habitual morning trek along the beach.  We were wrapped up warm.  But by mid-morning we had dispensed with coats and were basking in the gentle warmth of the Mediterranean sun.

My extra catches the sun rising over the hill as we made our way around the port.

My second extra is a back-blip from yesterday, when four ancient lumbering prop driven aircraft swooped low over the apartment before appearing almost to crash into the bay.  Instead, they skimmed the surface of the water, leaving large plumes of it in their wake as they rose again into the air.  My guess is they were practising scooping up water for fighting the kind of fires that ravaged this coast last summer.
