Sunrise

Not often that we witness a sunrise in Joburg but today we headed off early to get Nomfundo to her taxi to get her home. She got the worst news yesterday that her family home in Mtubatuba, just south of Hluhluwe in KZN had burned down. Fortunately her family are unharmed.

We were hoping that it was better than she thought but the roof has gone and most of the contents too. It seems the cause was electrical, and one wonders if Eishkom have some responsibility given the power surges that happen after loadshedding.

Rural SA is not a place to find insured property but the local community have come together to bring the family mattresses and blankets. Maybe not enough to keep the rain off but a good start to give the family a more comfortable sleep in the short term.
