Street Art?

This very large globe structure caused quite a controversy when it was erected in Horsham a few years back. The four small globes sit in 'bowls' at the bottom that are filled with water and rotate freely as a result. The one large globe used to fall as it filled with water and then subsequently rise at it emptied with a great rush, with the result that the large central are filled with water that then splashed over onto the pavement around. Great on hot summer days, but not so clever in the winter, especially when ice formed on the pavement as a result. It wasn't working today, and I seem to remember it has been turned off for some time now.

Some people really liked it and thought it was a great piece of art. Others thought it was a huge monstrosity and a waste of money and space. As I think about this it just reminds me of how different we all are and what great variety and uniqueness God has put within each of us.

Today we have met up with a number of friends from the church we attended for many years in Horsham. All different in their own ways yet all reflecting the richness and generosity of our great God. It was good to catch up, share how our journeys (both faith and life) are progressing and remember stories of how our lives have interacted in the past.

My prayer for them and us is that we may continue to walk on that journey of faith through all the ups and downs of life.
