Fog

Heaviest fog of the season. When I was in the 3rd grade, I read the poem, “Fog” by Carl Sandburg, and I was hooked on poetry. The line that caught me was “…on little cat feet.” Little cat feet…that killed me. I remember reading Carl Sandburg poems, and then doing a report on him by 5th grade. Maybe I was a poet in a previous life. Here’s Sandburg’s poem:

Fog

The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
