A view from St Swithin

Clachnaben

Clachnaben’s a wee hill (589m) with a distinctive granite tor on top and is easily recognisable in lower Deeside. It gives a good half day walk and given the deteriorating weather forecast was a good choice for a walk this morning. There were 5 in our group and we got going early to avoid the worst of the weather.
It was very windy and cold on top but there were some good views westwards towards the Cairngorms. The cloud and sleet was moving in as we got back to the cars, although this did not seem to be deterring some hardy souls making a later start.
A good morning out with a good blether about the respective performances of the Scottish and UK Governments and the Scottish rugby team!
