Mr SF’s father, his grandparents and the great-grandmother originally from Cork lived in nearby Alice Street, Newtown from the 1910s. The frangipani in their former front yard is close to 100 years old and so unruly that I gave up on it.

This one was on the way home from Erskineville station. The woman had picked up a flower. “Isn’t the smell gorgeous?”, she asked.
