I particularly like this doorway for its vibrant pink and the restraint of the blue and white enamel house number. The doorway is raised above street level because the house was built in the early 50s not long after severe floods during which Kew Green had been under water. The house replaced 4 very old artisan cottages - a thought provoking reflection on gentrification.
