Mirror Mirror

Another day on the water, another bird courting.  Its spring!  This is a male Wood Duck.  His is gazing at his reflection.  I wonder if he thinks it is another male getting too close to the Mrs. or if he just has to confirm he is the handsomest Wood Duck of all.  
We have a run of beautiful weather right now with no wind.  I spent 7 hours on the Silver River.  Its an energetic paddle upstream but the float back is just glorious.  And I timed it perfectly.  I had the run to myself most of the way back to the launch.  AHHHHH
Extra is courting behavior.  The female is shaking her tail feathers and the male is twisting his head back and forth, over and over again.
