Culinary Disaster of the Day:
Bought some nice ingredients in order to make a slow cooked, Mexican Carnitas. I was planning to make some lovely pulled pork tortillas and guacamole when I returned from my musical duties in the evening. After salting my outdoor bred pork belly for an hour, I placed it in a pyrex casserole dish on the hob with some fat and some oranges and spices. The recipe said add a bottle of coke, and bring to a simmer.

I poured in the coke. This happened.
