scouse and ale

Scouse (more properly lobscouse) is a cheap meat and vegetable stew long associated with Liverpool (see here). My friend Dave and his team kindly provided large quantities for delegates at the conference today, together with plenty of strong ale. Generous hospitality, and much appreciated.
