Sodden

Snowdrop week at YorkGate .
Today was for volunteers ( all 170 of us) only.
It couldn’t have been wetter.
Poor Elaine, she is not a gardener ( but does enjoy being in a garden).
Our plan was to incorporate a walk into our visit but the rain was beating down so hard and it was so cold.
Instead l drove us there and we took a quick tour of the garden, it did look magical and then we went straight into the cafe.

Couldn’t decide between the almond Bakewell tart or the Yorkshire curd tart so we got one of each and shared, was still a toss up of which we preferred.

Changed plans meant an early return home to dry out and l am going to cook for us this evening: Box Tree Chicken, a recipe given to me by one of the chefs who once worked in restaurant in Ilkley that has a bit of a reputation .
But it did lose its Michelin star a couple of years ago.
My photographs turned of very poor, hope to do better when l do a shift in the carpark this coming Friday.
The whole week has sold out of tickets so it will be busy.
