Winners

Early start to get over to the north of Glasgow for a Cani sport race at Mugdock country park. It started to rain as we got there and didn’t stop all morning. Darwin was hyper before the start with so much new stuff and dogs around. The course was very muddy and we didn’t have a great beginning when I misread the course sign so a few other people caught us up. Kilda didn’t like the rain or having to run through puddles and deep muddy bits and Darwin spent a lot of time sniffing and looking around. Half the course was a technical tail running section over big tree roots, streams and mud which none of us liked. The last kilometer through the woods and on the paths was OK. All things considered we did OK as I didn’t go over on an ankle. Darwin was cold and knackered in the car while we waited for prize giving which took ages to start, it was worth the wait as we came 3rd in the male two dog group. With a bit of practice and me learning the signs better we could get second. Got back for steak pie for a late lunch and then made some soup for the coming weeks.
