Welcome message

First iMessage that arrived this morning, this picture of the Welcome message on the door of the nursery on Jack’s first morning there. Old and new communication, internet waves and letters. We’ll hear if he enjoyed it as soon as he’s back home. Obviously even if he is a prodigy gardener he can’t read yet, but it’s certainly a nice gesture :-) For today’s MonoMonday theme of communication with thanks to jensphotos for hosting.

The reason he’s going to nursery is less joyous ( for us at least). Neither D nor F can find a job over here, not in their line of business in any way. But F got a good job offer in Tokyo starting in April, and so they are now planning to move there. And to get Jack used to daycare in Japan they are now trying out a good nursery twice a week over here. Can’t begin to tell you how I will miss them, but I certainly understand the need to go where there’s a job. Now it’s the son who needs to go through the necessary red tape, because getting a visa for him over there is just as hard as it was for F over here. Nothing is totally sure yet, but it does mean sadness already, especially since in the current pandemic situation it won’t be easy to go visit them in Japan, if at all possible.

Thanks very much for your kind comments and stars for yesterday’s petal waves and the AbstractThursday results.
