The Multangular Tower, York

After a wet morning the sun came out at lunchtime, so as I was in York, I had a walk through the Museum Gardens. The snowdrops and crocuses were looking lovely but it was too windy for a photo and anyway I only had my phone.

This tower marks the western corner of the Roman fortress and dates back to the early 3rd century. The small stones in the lower half are Roman, the upper half was reconstructed and incorporated into the city walls in the Middle Ages.
