Storm before the storm

Well if Storm Dudley is anything to go by I’m not looking forward to Eunice on Friday. There were even waves on the canal today and I noticed that the people on the barge moored up on the opposite bank were making sure their ropes were secure tonight.
I was hoping for a good night’s sleep tonight but I think the howling winds will keep me awake. Last night I was woken at 12.30 to what sounded like someone using an electric saw, the highways people were cutting back trees and bushes on the main road behind our house. I wasn’t amused.
