Bubble Man

Today Girl and I jumped on a train and headed to the arts centre in Havant to see the the Amazing Bubble Man. We got there early and were pleased to find that it was not just a theatre and cafe but also there was a little museum and a craft table for children.

As we crafted away some friends arrived so we all had a play together before showtime. Amazingly our seats were straight behind our friends for the show. The show was brilliant with a great mix of fun, science and some madness.

Lots of young volunteers helped out for the show though Girl did not want to participate (she has been saying for days that she did not want to be put in a bubble). There was a great bit of the show where he showed how bubbles break by moving another bubble up along a long bubble film, and also another brilliant bit where he made a bubble brain on a volunteer and on that made a flying saucer that rotated, took off, hit the ceiling and then floated back down to land on the girls head again.

There was another part of the show where he showed how his armhairs was good for bubbles to sit on but not a full head of hair. He then stated that bald heads are very good for putting bubbles on them, at which point he asked if any baldies were in and spotted me. As our friends were close Girl was ok for me to volunteer (she said she was brave, I was told she looked concerned) so I moved down the theatre and took a seat nearer the front whilst a bubble was built on my head and then blasted off with a water pistol, much to the crowds amusement.

After the show we eventually got some food in us at the cafe and then blasted round the museum for a little while before heading back to the station, buying a bubble machine on the way.

Almost home and we bumped into Granny who had ,excitedly, just arrived for a visit. So we all trooped to nursery to get Boy so that the little ones could be super excited to see Granny together. I was also very excited and very lucky to get an extra special birthday gift.
