I’ve been back in Heath Robinson mode today. Separated the old TV from its custom stand, found a piece of MDF in the attic, used the top of the stand as a template and a drill, 3 bits, 2 chisels and a screwdriver later had fashioned a shelf for the new TV. It needs a bit of tarting up (shaping & painting) but I think it’s OK.
I’d forgotten just how heavy tellies used to be - it’ll be a two man job to get it to the recycling centre! The new one might be blown over by a strong draught.
