Hunkered Down

It's been fairly windy today. In fact Storm Eunice has been blowing about all day though this evening there are signs of it slowing down.  We didn't have any damage, only the embarrassment of rescuing our rubbish wheelie bin, the bin isn't rubbish, just the contents, when the wind decided we'd parked it in the wrong place; today is collection day.  The pot with our Japanese Primrose also went over, though it didn't break thankfully.

We did venture out for a short walk later this afternoon, though we didn't go far. Walking into the wind was the equivalent of walking uphill to me, hard work.

These two pigeons had the right idea.  First thing this morning, after breakfast, they settled down on a couple of sturdy branches of the lilac tree in the wild corner of our garden, sheltered by two garden fences.  They stayed there most of the day.

In other news: well done to both our Women's and Men's curling teams both of whom are through to the final in the Winter Olympics and guaranteed a medal!
