Gateaux

Another walk in the forest to an old castle in the middle of the forest, at the edge of a rock outcrop it was a fantastic look-out across the Rhine valley, vineyards and across The Valley to the Vosges Mountains in France.
The castle was built in 1250 and occupied by the same family for 300 years. The last three remaining members of the family fell into poverty and survived for a while by selling the castle and lands before being mysteriously murdered in their castle. Ever since then it remained abandoned and the castle started falling apart…
