Tearing spinach

My assistant, Katie, took this one. We'd harvested some of the spinach that overwintered in our garden, and after washing it (and the children's hands) set to work tearing it into smaller pieces. It was sautéed with onion, pureed, topped with fresh ground pepper, and served as the first course of our lunch. The children tried it, but I ate most of it.
