Stand-off

A stand-off is a situation in which neither of two opposing groups will make a move until the other one does something, The lorikeets had the numbers and so Mr Magpie had to wait until he had the courage to go in and grab the large chunk of mince. The smaller birds will attack him. He grabbed it in the end and flew off.
