The walk I was booked onto in Leicestershire today was cancelled yesterday, because of the potential for flooding after Eunice so.... what to do?

I decided to go and see friend Jan in Nottingham for the afternoon, and she was pleased to have a second opinion about her half finished kitchen. She's only 5' 1", so very petite, but the fitter has installed her cupboards using the highest leg setting in spite of him being able to see that she's a little 'un. Why ??? The worktop even seemed a bit high for me at an average 5' 5" so for her it's impossible. She's going to pluck up her courage tomorrow and tell him they're too high and need to be lowered. I mean, she's not going to grow taller at our age!

When it's finished it'll look great and will be a lovely space with the rebuilt conservatory forming the dining part of the room, with solid walls and rooflights replacing the traditional add-on conservatory.

While I was there I offered to take her to Curry's to look at gas hobs, she's not sure the one that's fitted will be ok but that may be to do with the worktop height. After Curry's we went to Dunelm to have a browse, but neither of us bought anything.
