Lake Ruataniwha

A very lazy day today - I think I just needed to rest and chill out a bit.  

Had a very short walk to the top of the small hill that sits behind the campsite with the thought of trying a 360 degree pano.  I managed it - kind of - but have had to produce 3 different panos separately (processing capacity/file size issues) and because of the dimensions none of them 'fit' blip.  To make this pic's thumbnail even half decent I had to reduce the width to about half and still it's got a cropped top!  It's a pretty scene nevertheless - Mt Cook is tucked away just behind the mountains on the right and Lake Ruataniwha itself recently hosted the national rowing championships.  I've been soaking up the area and imagining it with a massive hoar frost - hoping to be back here in the depths of winter for that spectacle :)

In COVID news, sadly 2 deaths were reported today.  The community cases saw a slight drop today to 2,365, there are 116 in hospital and 1 in ICU.
