Waddie & Co - Slateford Road

I pass the attractive frontage of this building on Slateford Road on my way to the bowling club.

In 1900 it was built as biscuit factory for Simon Henderson & Sons who were acquired by in 1922 by McVities (Jaffa Cakes, Hobnobs, Rich Tea etc!).  Waddie's acquired the building for their Head Office and Printing Works in 1950.  The name 'St Stephens' Works' was transferred from Waddie's previous premises in Stockbridge.

In 2002 the building was converted to residential flats.
